Approach to Learning
At Kingsley Primary School we have reviewed the whole curriculum to ensure that it meets the diverse needs of our pupils. We have ensured that each subject has a clear approach and that the learning is clearly mapped out for each of our pupils. Our curriculum is based around our key drivers, FLIGHT, and our values of RAISE (Respect, Aspiration, Integrity, Synergy and Endeavour). We want these values to be seen within our pupils each and every day. We strongly believe that all children are entitled to a broad and balanced education that is just right for them. This will then enable them to thrive and enjoy the opportunities given to them by Kingsley.
Each child is unique and our curriculum is adapted to suit each child, cohort and need as necessary. We are an inclusive school and more information about how we meet the needs of all our children and how we comply with the Equality and SEND Acts is available in the following link: https://www.kingsleyprimary.net/page/?title=SEND&pid=23
Phonics
Read Write Inc is the scheme used for teaching phonics in EYFS and KS1. It is a Government backed scheme designed by Ruth Miskin, which through systematic teaching and consistent routines, enables children to achieve high levels of reading success.
